Why is it the woman's fault? Over the past few days, we have seen many reports of husbands torturing their wives. Women continue to be subjected to brutal torture. One girl was raped by her four brothers one of whom was a preacher. Another woman had her tongue cut off by her husband. Another woman was beaten, stripped naked by her husband in front of others and her head was shaven off. I am not naming any of these victims because that is how it should be. Victims should not be named. Only attackers should be named and shamed. However, to my absolute horror, saw many on social media and twitter including "respected" journalists, saying that the woman whose head was shaven off, used to do drugs. She used to party and was high. So, what is she did all those things? That still doesn't rob her of her right to not have those things done to her. If a woman dances or does drugs, that doesn't give anyone the right to rob her of her agency and treat her like someone who...
